I am a Walden descendant who lived in Chatham County. Martha Walden and Thomas Glover (listed as white in 1790 census) I believe were in a common law marriage. I emailed Paul Heinegg couple of years ago telling himabout my gggggrandfather Thomas Glover and Martha Patsy Walden. Martha Walden was the mother of Elizabeth (my ggggrandmother), James, Thomas, and Mary Walden. I have seen where Paul Heinegg attached Martha Walden to an Elizabeth Walden on his site. I am curious to know how that connection was made. I do know that there was a land dispute in the early 1800's between Thomas Glover's sons and a white neighbor. I believe John Walden "represented" them.
