Re: Longtown Connection

Just information that was taken from census records. A couple of things from marriage records. Nathan W. WARD in his first marriage, married about 1893, Lillie Belle FORD, daughter of Shadrack (various spellings) & Margaret (DUNGIE?) FORD. Lucy CARNEY (it looks like CAMEY to me, except for 1870 and still doesn't look like CARNEY) is living in the household of Nathan & Catherine WARD in 1850, age 76. She is living in the household of Catherine WARD in 1860, age 95. She is living in the household of Isaac M & Sarah J. WARD in 1870, age 106. Without further information is hard to get a hold of this one. Notice the 19 year jump from 1850-1860. She could be Nathan's mother. She could be Nathan's first wife's mother. She could be Catherine's mother. As far as that is concerned she could be the grandmother of Catherine etc. If 117 is accurate that means that age 76 in 1850 is wrong and she is actually about 86. This would line up with her age in other census records. So that would *seem* to eliminate her as Catherine's mother since she would have been about 51 when she had Catherine. It would make her about 33 when she had Nathan if she is the mother of Nathan. But it could be that the 1850 age is correct and all the others are off by about 10 years... Without more information this one is up in the air for me... Doug
