I think part of the problem why things don't "add up" is because I believe we may be talking about different individuals who have or go by the same name. The J. C. PRICE mentioned on this forum is the grandson of Nathaniel PRICE. However Nathaniel PRICE has a son, Alfred Nathaniel PRICE who went by Nathaniel. This "Nathaniel" would be the uncle of the J. C. PRICE mentioned on this forum. So the only way things make sense (from your information) is that this Nathaniel (Alfred Nathaniel) had a son he also named J. C. and would be a brother to your grandfather (i.e. first cousins named J. C. PRICE).
It is this "Nathaniel" who is your father's grandfather.
