My dad is from Longtown. He is the grandson of Marie Brown-Price and Nathaniel Price. His mother's name is Guinevere. She is the granddaughter of Elizabeth A. and Collins Brown. She was married to a DeSoto Bass at one time. I have been on the hunt for quite awhile trying to find some family leads on the Price side. This site is the closest I have come outside of paying for the Ancestry.com membership. Thanks for pulling this together. I will keep checking back to see what other information I might stumble upon.

I intend to send you family reports "off forum". It would help if I had the name of your father's father. J. C. PRICE had three brothers, which one is the father of your father? Some of the above information does not "add up". If your grandfather is the brother of J. C. PRICE then your father cannot be the grandson of Nathaniel PRICE. J. C. PRICE (hence your father's father) is the grandson of Nathaniel PRICE. J. C. PRICE's grandmother is not Marie etc. etc.

If by Desoto BASS you mean Desoto E. BASS the well known minister, then that Desoto BASS was never married. etc. The only other "Desoto" BASS from the Settlement is the above's nephew, Ira Desoto BASS who went by Desoto, however he was not married to a Guinevere etc.
