the Lewis and Meyers families in question here came to Mercer County, PA directly from Charlottesville, VA they had been emancipated by the will of Dr. Charles Everett, but not without a catch his slaves were to be relocated together so they did not have a say in where they were relocated or even when (1854). both families were still in PA as late as the 1870 census, although many of the Meyers family had died off by that point.
