I am a descendant of the LeMelle lineage also. I know that the family moved from New Orleans to Des Allemands to Cane River and LeMelle Landing and out further. All of the names are part of the research that my uncle, Dr. Tilden LeMelle has compiled on our line and other off shoots from the original LeMelles in France.
