Thank you for your info regarding the Wright family, I will check this info out and see if leads me to Ada's family. As I have stated in just about every post that I have done over the years we know very little about Ada and her family. You are right that Ancestry does not have the 1870 census records for the Douglass family, it's odd but that is ancestry, I did find it on HQ along time ago. All we knew about her, her mother and Dora was on the 1870 census. Dora was never with the family after that, so we don't know what happened to her.
We know lots more about William after 1870 because much was written about him in Kansas because of his inventions and the patents for farm equipment he obtained, so he had a tidbit of fame, but nothing related to being a hairdresser.
I am not sure what you meant about exact info, it is very hard to post everything about a family in one email without going on and on. My last post to the Who are Free people of color thread on 7/13 gave quite a bit of info regarding what I was searching for on William and his family.
