Trying to contact Paul Heinegg re: some of my descendants, to wit:

WALDENs out of N.C. (John , etc.)
CANNONs out of N.C. -Gr-gr-gr grandfather William CANNON, supposedly signed up with the militia in Buncombe County, N.C. to lead the Indians out on the "Trail of Tears". Supposedly, he led a wagon train out and kept a diary that is supposed to be in the museum at Cherokee, N.C. I am hoping that you have come across these surnames and perhaps have more info. I have access to photos of the WALDENS out of N.C. (early 1800's)
