Re: Jean-Louis & Jean Baptiste

Harrison, I think you're getting something confused. How can someone with two distintive names of Jean-Baptiste and Jean-Louis be the same person? I am very familiar with the MALVEAUS. I am related to a bunch of them. On April 6, 1807, the frenchman, Jean Baptiste MALVEAU emancipeted his female slave Catherine, and her two sons, Laurent and JEAN-BAPTISTE MALVEAU SR. Jean-Baptiste Malveau Sr. was the one that married the former slave, Celeste whose freedom was questioned even though they were married. Jean-Baptiste Sr. and Celeste had a son, named JEAN-LOUIS MALVEAU. He was the one who married Elisabeth Rosalie SAM. Two different people. But, Jean Baptiste Malveau Sr. also had a SON named Jean-Baptiste Malveau Jr., He was the witness two the marriage of my ancestors Euphemie RIDEAU and Jean Pierre SAM. He was the one who married Pauline Pitre. Jean Baptiste didnt show on that court document because he wasnt born yet. Simple as that. You're just getting people who have the same name confused.
