I have been researching the surname Shorter for some years and on the FPOC for Maryland the name of Shorter appears. I am trying to see if my Shorters' are connected to them in any way.

Richard Shorter was born in Maryland, but was located on the 1880's census living in the Washington DC area. Richard had 4 siblings: Charles, George, Marie and William. I have been trying to find any relatives of theirs, but have not been successful.

Can anyone help to see if their is a connecion?
