You may have to broaden your search. Does the 1880 Census show that Lucinda and/or her parents were born in Tennessee or in another state?

Is there oral family history which suggests either an FPOC or a slave background? Do you have elders or other relatives you can ask? My maternal grandmother was the one who told me that her parents had been enslaved and that my grandfather (her husband) came from a long line of FPOC.

This 1870 brick wall is often a hard one to surmount. May the ancestors give you the guidance/push that you need. (c:
