Indiana is not a state that I research........but you might want to take a look at the book by Coy D. Robbins, which was mentioned by another poster. In Robbins new CD he includes the Free Negro Registers for the counties of Bartholomew, Floyd, Franklin, Gibson, Harrison, Hendricks, Jackson, Jefferson, Knox, Martin, Ohio, Orange, Switzerland and Washington. These Registers that were kept in numerous states were based on laws that were passed in those states, I am sure that Robbins includes that information on the "law" that was passed in Indiana which generated these registers. The information from your register would be a wonderful addition.
