Yea, there are a bunch of Chavis people in NC and other places. There were a few branches of Chavis that migrated to Lousiana in the 1780s. One branch came to Opelousas, Louisiana in Saint Landry Parish and intermarried with the french-speaking Creole of Color population. The Chavis intermarried with my Gradenigo and LaChapelle line
