Re: Intermarriage of FPOC
In Response To: Intermarriage of FPOC ()
In my searches, I have found that the FPOC lived in their own neighborhood, as indicated by house numbers in the census. Living in one community, one associates most with the people in that community, altho we are much more mobile now. That was true for the "Wesorts" (Those who did not consider themselves to be black, but "Very slightly mixed" or Mulungeons (Indian/white/black mixtures,) and even the Portugese in the Rhode Island area. I live in Oakland where at least 53 different languages are spoken! We still tend to live in our own communites for the most part, and we tend to marry each other - within the community.
