I am researching the Collins family of Mobile, AL, who are also self identified as Creole. The family patriarch was Maximillian Jacques Collins born 1782 on Mon Luis Island. Some of his descendants still live on the island.

A one room school house for Creole children (taught by Catholic nuns) is still standing on Collins property to date.
