My maternal forebears were Bethancourts from SJB Parish. Don't know if this will help you, but I'll give you the info I have that, if nothing else, will rule them out.

My grandfather was LOUIS GERMAIN BETHANCOURT born Edgard, 1869, I believe. He had eight siblings, sisters and brothers, but the only name I'm sure of at this moment is sister LENA.

Germain's father's name was BENJAMIN MARCEL SAMUEL BETHANCOURT born Edgard, 1834.

They were white, as am I, but you asked for info so I thought I'd try to help.

By the way, I don't believe my forebears were wealthy or anywhere near that. Who knows...they may have been farmers or cobblers, but I don't think they had 'money'.
