Since I see the Walden and Jackson surnames I would also check the Surry and Charles City registers of free people of color. I have a Delia Mae Tyree b. 1887 who married George O Charity in my family. Delia Mae's parents were William Thomas Tyree and Susan Anna Allen Tyree. Delia's sister, Annie Mercer Tyree b. 1889 married Albert Charity. The Richmond area might also be a possiblity.
