I am searching for information about my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, Samuel Redman. There is a marriage bond in Lincoln Co, NC, for Samuel Redman and Ann Rhyne on 8/26/1829. I am reasonably certain that this is my ancestors. I have been able to find information about Anna Rhyne, but nothing about Samuel.

Family tradition was that he was Indian. Samuel and Anna had three children in NC: Caleb, 1830; Catherine, 1836; Mary Ann, 1838. It appears that the family left NC shortly after Mary Ann was born in 1838. Anna Redman is listed as head of house in the 1840 census for Stoddard Co, MO. There is no mention of Samuel.

Anna Redman remarried John Shrum about 1841 probably in Stoddard Co, MO.
