I research STEWART's in Virginia, in Campbell Co. ......a number of these families were Free Blacks who appear in the census records prior to 1870. I can look thru some of my material, but..I need some more info.

I was able to locate your Eliza Triplett on the 1880 census, but not on the 1870.......that you had listed. She is listed as being "white" and a widow" with 2 children, oldest being Thos A. age 22. Is this your Eliza? Where do you locate them in 1870? Have you located Thomas in the 1900 census.
