Regarding Benjamin Ruff of Virginia

I do not think I have posted this. I have finally received a copy of the actual record for two of the children of BAnjamin Ruff that were bound out in 1780. One child James was 6 (1974) and Sucky was 4 (1776). THe record for Suckey states in part that she is bound to Polly Ewing and no other as by hir I & family has obtained considerable support since my husband's death in the Army and your petition shallever pray. (Mark) Sarah Ruff Bond Oaths and Commissions 1780.

This of course would place Joseph Ruffs birth likely 1772 as opposed to 1774. I have never found any additional information on James. I suppose Joseph could be James. There is no mention of Joseph among the children that were bound out. It was always my conclusion that he was the oldest and therefore stayed wuth his mother. I have marriage records for all of the female children.
