Paul et al--my research assistant Lenaye Howard and I have abstracted the manumissions appearing in deed and will books between roughly 1782 and 1818 for Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Charles City, Sussex, Surry, Southampton and Isle of Wight Counties in Virginia for a larger study of the origins of the free people of color who live in early Petersburg. We will be posting these on the History Department website at Utah State University in the next few weeks. We will let the list know when they will be available and hope they will be of use.
