Have you searched the court records, deeds, minutes and loose papers for Hardy County? Some counties kept racially separate records, while others recorded the transactions together.

You may find lists of FPOC in the 1830's especially. Perhaps you could contact Jane Ailes. She's posted on this forum several times relating to the Redman families, as she's done research in that county. If nothing else, she can probably tell you generally what's available.
