I just saw your post and I wanted to let you know that I am related to the Pettifords from North Carolina who migrated to the midwest. I have traced my line of Pettiford back to Edmund and Sarah Carter Pettiford. Edmund was born in 1795 in Granville County, N.C. He and his family with 13 other family members migratged to Ohio, Indiana and Michigan around 1840. My great grandfather Joseph was born in 1861 in Chillocothe , Ohio. There are losts of Pettifords they come from different branch of the Pettiford tree,but they are all related in some way . If you want some help I will be glad to share my information with you.
