hi robert, thanks for responding, my oldest goens is Lawson, b. abt. 1807, married Sarah (Hart) b. 1810. they lived in Jefferson County West Va, which was formally Jefferson County Virginia. they had 10 children, 3 of the children married Roper's. Which is descendant of Nicholas Roper from Suffolk England, who had a son, by a slave. please let me know if any of this rings a bell.
