Thanks for posting this article. I don't know yet whether my Fayetteville ancestors were slave or free, but I am really looking forward to the remainder of your post. I don't know when I'll be able to visit Fayetteville again. So, posts like yours motivate me and are the next best thing to being in Fayetteville to do my own research.
