Parents of Thomas Campbell and Julia A. Cox, Charleston, SC
Looking for the parents of my GGF, Thomas Campbell Cox (aka T.C. Cox, b. 1833? 38?) and his sister, Julia A. Cox (b. 1829).
Have been able to locate Julia in "Free Blacks and Mulattos in SC 1850 Census", but can't find any docs on Julia or T. C. as children in Charleston. Have heard that they may have come from Philadelphia, but death certs. list birthplaces as Charleston.
We do know a bit about T.C. -- started a school w/ nephew, J. E. Wilson in Florence, SC, was elected Sheriff of Darlington County, SC, and his sister, Julia married Robert R. Gordon, a shoemaker from Charleston. One of Julia's descendants was my Dad's Godfather, so we have plenty of info on the Gordons & Wilsons (and photos) and their descendants.
Personal information on either of them would be great, but we are particularly interested in who their parents were and any other personal information on T.C.
