Hello Camille,
I'm glad you found this Forum, nice to have you with us.
I just have a "fleeting" familiarity with the Long/Longtown Settlement, Doug Harger is much more versed than I.
A quick review of the 1870 & 1880 Census records for Darke County & German Twp. in particular shows the Alexander surname present.
In 1870 there are three Alexander children in the home of a large Wade household. Perhaps they are nieces/nephews and/or cousins.
George (10), Alex (7) & Alice (5). The Wade household is surrounded by many of the other surnames you've mentioned. So some relationship is very likely.
In 1880, there is a John, wife Tenie & son Leniel (sic) Alexander found in German Twp., Darke Co., Ohio.
If you haven't already you may have to broaden your search to the other surrounding counties of western Ohio and eastern Indiana for a family migration pattern to locate the Alexander's. And look to your connections to the other surnames mentioned.
Best wishes and let us know if we can be of further help.
Art Thomas
