Family name is CHAVERS. I understand about the tri-racial background and that other spellings are Chavis/Chavous/Schavers.

We can trace definitely back to William Chavers born ca 1813 in SC died after 1880 in Conecuh Co. AL. Married to Esther Williams (also Easter) born ca 1813 in SC died after 1870, also in Conecuh Co. AL.

His Father believed to be John Chavers but don't know anything else. We believe they migrated to SC from NC and possibly VA before then.
