Desoto E. BASS, was born about 1866 in Ohio to William Riley & Selenia BUSH BASS. He died 10-08-1928 in Montgomery County, Ohio. He served as the Pastor of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church (Dayton, Ohio) from 1895 until his death in 1928. He helped form the Colored Ministerial Alliance and brought bags of coal to people in need. Dayton’s as well as the nation’s, first public housing complex is named in his honor.
