Looking for information on the following man and his family who married Henriette Rodes. His father was Benjamin Brown who married Sarah Dabney 1730 Albermarle CO., VA. There was a plantation named Midway Plantation. If anyone has any info on the slaves at this plantation I would appreciate hearing from you.

Bernis Brown 1752 of Albermarle CO., VA was an early Methodist preacher. He was a friend of Thomas Jefferson. When Jefferson went North to Continental Congress he left important state papers with Rev. Brown so they would not be taken by the British. He was in the Revolutionary War with "Light Horse" Harry Lee (Robert E. Lee's father).

Rev Brown's daughter Henriette Brown married John Ruff. This John Ruff abt. 1780 man be the son of Jacob Ruff and Catherine Helms.
