I agree that the age is right. So I'll put the question another way to avoid the mulatto/mulatress debate (and I agree that there is inconsistency across various records, but rarely within a singular record), if the mulatto is Marie Jeanne - where are the children. Moreover, why do they not appear in the 1777 Opelousas census? Martin et al were alive at the time of these censuses (censi?), where the heck are they??? My hunch du jour is that they (and Marie Jeanne)are somewhere in the Attakapas region and come to Opelousas after Bello. Anyway, I can't prove that this is what happened - that's why I'm trying to figure out whether anyone can identify anyone from this family in any record prior to 1779.
