My great-grandmother was Julietta Louisa MCCORMICK de MAGNAN. She was sold, April 29, 1833, Charleston, South Carolina, by James MAGNAN to LEON HERCKENRATH. She was a Mulatto slave, "about 14 years old, with Manumission." Anyone out there know of these family names? How do I go about getting a copy of the original bill of sale? Thank you in advance.
