I know very little. In poking around I've (sort of) determined that the old Attakapas area/district over the years gets broken up into St Martin, St Mary, Lafayette and a portion of Lafayette becomes Vermillion. There was an old settlement named Boston of which little remains. Apparently, Boston was part of what is now the second ward of Vermillion parish. What I've found on the web is this:

BOSTON

There is little left of the early settlements in what is today the
Second Ward of Vermilion Parish, including the settlement of Boston, at
the intersection of Hwys. 330 and 331.

The early Boston community families were those of Emile Broussard,
George Pulling, Hulin Dronet, Dubois, and others whose descendants
remain in the area.
