I know very little. In poking around I've (sort of) determined that the old Attakapas area/district over the years gets broken up into St Martin, St Mary, Lafayette and a portion of Lafayette becomes Vermillion. There was an old settlement named Boston of which little remains. Apparently, Boston was part of what is now the second ward of Vermillion parish.
