The surname Syphax came up at the book signing for Lawrence Otis Graham's latest book, The Senator and the Socialite. I was fascinated with Graham's story about one of the Syphaxes, I believe it was John, I could be wrong that passed for white for over forty years and even his wife did not know until he was to receive a $2 million inheritance. There was a stipulation that he had to reveal his true identity. Unfortunately, he died before he could claim his inheritance.
