I mentioned in my previous message that Andrew Monroe was the father of President James Monroe. Actually his father was Spence Monroe, the brother of Andrew Monroe. I am now in contact with the James Monroe Foundation, and they are assisting me in finding where the connections are. I believe my ancestor, Mary Bowden, was the daughter of William and Mary Monroe. Williams' other children were by his wife, Margaret Bowcock, who was probably deceased by the time Mary and William got together.

While tracing Mary Bowdens ancestry, I found that the Bowcocks, Monroes, and Chiltons often intermixed and intermarried. This line continues to develope, and I will keep everyone posted.
