If we are talking about the same man, my Great-grandfather would have wound up in the Pittsburgh, Pa area. Where my grandmother Amy Marie Hall was born in the 1890's. It will be a pleasure to look through family treasures for a photograph. Also Orrington Hall, if still living in the D.C. area may have info.
