Looking for any information on Priscilla and/or Frederick Ivy of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. Priscilla died in 1850 at approximately 88 years of age. She is listed as a Free Colored woman in the 1840 Census for that county, and is listed on the 1850 Slave Schedule for that county as well. Apparently she owned several slaves herself. I believe that she may have been the offspring of her slave master and subsequently obtained her freedom prior to the Civil War. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
