In Response To: Dickenson, R.A. & May, Wilberforce, OH, 1891
() Sorry that I neglected to post more information about my Dickinsons and Simpsons. I am related to the Dickinsons of Brownsville, PA thru my aunt, Thelma McKenzie Dickinson. She married George "Greenie" Dickinson who is now deceased. George's father was William who married Gertrude Thomas. His grandfather was George who married Sara Lancaster. His grgrandfather was George who married Elizabeth Margaret and was born around 1830. I found George and Elizabeth living in Washington Co. They then moved to the Brownsville area. Other children of George and Elizabeth were: Sarah, Ann Eliz., Joseph, Elisha B and Curbert. The family was listed as white. After son George married Sarah Lancaster, he was still listed as white, but Sarah and the children were listed as mulatto. George and Sarah's children were:Lydia, William and John who was born around 1895. Members of my Dickinson family married members of the Bell, Dillard, Randolph, Mays, and Johns families. My relationship to the Simpson family is thru my Thomas family from the Uniontown/Hopwood, Fayette County, Pa area and from Washington, Washington county, PA. The Simpsons are members of the Hiram Simpson family from Washington Co., PA. I am originally from Fayette County as well. Linda
