At the Norfolk Courthouse, the Kirn Library and the Archives at Norfolk State University. I've spent a lot of time at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, and have also viewed records in various other institutions that house Norfolk-related records. My folks are from the city rather than the county or surrounding areas. The records I'm compiling first are the city records, and then once I'm done with my projects, then I plan to search through the Norfolk county records.
