Andre Masse is belived to be orginally from the area of Mount Blanc in France, and he was the parter of Jean Antoine Marie Bernard VAllier de la Hauterive in raising cattle or operating a cattle vacharie to raise cattle for the colonists of New Orleans also Andre Masse settled in what is now the town of Baldwin, La. and there is a deer skin map hanging on the wall of the Baldwin City Hall that most probably was drawn by Andre Masse, also Andre Masse is believed to have settled in present day Baldwin, La. after he and de la Hauterive had some type of differences and were no longer engaged in cattle raising
