My gg grandmother was CATHERINE THOMPSON/THOMSON CLARK from VA.
She was the daughter of Burwell and Matilda THOMPSON/THOMSON..
I can't find Burwell and Matilda in the 1870 census, perhaps they died before the end of slavery.
CATHERINE lived in Rappahannock ~ Washington, VA.
