Based on the 1900 Census (ancestry.com), Silas West was still alive on June 25, 1900, as he is listed as head of household on that date, living in Westbrook Township, Sampson County, North Carolina. Members of his household at that time were Winnie, his wife, and their children, William (son, age 16), Thaniel (son, age 14), Anna (daughter, age 11), and Clovis (??) (son, age 10).
