My name is Norma Johnson and I am a descedant of Edmund Pettiford of Granville County,N.C. Several of my Pettifords family members married into the Epps family and moved to Knoxville, Tenn. The information I have on Elizabeth Epps shows she married Richard Pettiford she was born in Virginia around 1822 they were married in 1841 in Stokes County their children were Rudolphus, Louisa, Eveline. Richard moved his family to Hawkins, County , Tenn. by 1869 and were listed as white. The information I have shows that from the time they moved to Tenn they were listed as white.
