I am researching my family history starting with Sam Aleckson, my g-g-g grandfather. He was born in 1852, in Charleston, S.C.. His biological father was his mother's slave owner. His mother husband lived on a different plantation. He began living with the Dane family on Guignard Street, then they moved with the Baled family and finally with the Bale's daughter husband plantation - the Ward plantation on Pine Top.

Any information would help. Especially where to start.
