I can't recall having seen any published compilations of FPOC records for this county. I checked the Guide to Free African American and Slave Records at the Library of Virginia, and they didn't have an entry for the county.

My guess is that if the papers have survived, they are dispersed amongst the court order and deed books.

Below is a link to the library's online catalog of the microfilm reels available from them. In many instances the Mormons have copies of this microfilm. So if you live near one of their research centers, you can order the microfilm and save yourself travel expenses.

If you live within traveling distance of Richmond, the reels of microfilm are in a self-service area of the library, making them easily accessible for research.
