I have no idea. I have had my Charity info for many years, but did not know if Isabella was even Austin's wife.She was enumerated with him in 1860, but no relatationship was indicated. A couple of months ago on the suggestion of the Library of VA I hired a researcher because I am now living in AZ. She was the one who was able to find the marriage of Austin and Isabella in 1860. Isabella died pretty quickly after their marriage because Austin married Ethalinda Green in 1862.

The names of the people living in the same household as Isabella in 1850 were:

Jane Cross, age 50. (She was listed first so I am assuming it was her house)
Robert Ruffin, age 55
Sally Ruffin, age 80
Archy Ruffin, age 5
Ezekiel Ruffin, age 2
Isabella Ruffin,age 9
All were born in VA.

I am trying to determine if Jane's maiden name was Ruffin and if she and/or Robert were the parent/parents of Isabella. I am assuming that Sallie is Robert's mother.

If I find a connection, I will defintely let you know.
