Cannot find a connection with the civil war. Adam was deaf and probably would not have been able to serve, Also his family would have been sailors since he was a boat builder and oysterman. I have checked rosters for naval service a din't find his name but did find his brother in law Joseph Hubbard listed aboard the "Pequot" as a seaman.
