That would be a good strategy because I do remember reading that Missouri was once French territory before being annexed to the United States. But, I think I should find out the identity of the 60 year old white woman living with my ggg grandfather, Theo, before I check out Missouri. My hunch is telling me that figured out her identity will give me more info about my ancestor. Thanks
