If born in 1854, he would have been 43 when he married in 1897-- and that strikes me as a bit older than we thought... The guess was that he was about 29 to 30 yo when he married.... So his family must have been one of those other Randolph's you mentioned. Prior to marriage, he attended law school in NY.. I would think that there had to have been a bit of family support in order to have done such a thing at that time.... Any thoughts on that??? As I think about things that i have heard through the years, Grandfather had a close friend whos last name was James.... I will look and see if i can find more on this.... Audrey
