Audrey, I don't know if William Maurice Randolph is the same William on the Census of 1870 in Goochland County Va.(Dover Township) He was born in 1854 and he attended school at 16 years old along with his sister Loria. The other children did not attend school and I thought this was odd for a large family of children not to attend school. William's mother Elizabeth (Betsy) as she was called lived near a relative also named William and other Randolphs. The Randolphs in Goochland seem to be a close knit family. There is a family member named Elvira Randolph James who has did a lot of research on "The Randolphs". Every year or so they have a reunion in Richmond Virginia.
